Planning cover starts with three things: a date, a headcount and a venue. The question that follows is what cover that actually needs, and the answer is usually more straightforward than expected. The point of booking standby ahead is that the crew is on site, briefed on your run sheet and equipped, before your doors open, rather than being sourced on the day you need it.
What we can put on site
- Standby ambulance. A fully equipped vehicle with crew, positioned at your venue for fastest response and clean egress. Operated under Ministry of Health (HCSA) licensing through our partner operator.
- On-site paramedic. A trained paramedic on the ground, in addition to the vehicle crew, for events that warrant additional clinical capacity. See paramedic services.
- Trained first-aid medics. Additional certified responders for larger events, distributed across the venue or course.
- Lifeguards if the event involves a pool, beach or open water. See lifeguard services.
Event types we cover
Marathons, runs & charity walks
Course-side cover with medical positioning along the route, finish-line response, and coordination with the race organiser. Charity walks sit here too, and they are a different medical picture from a race: slower, longer and open to a far wider range of ages. Tournaments, sports days & fitness events
Futsal and court tournaments, school sports days, and station-based fitness events running circuits like rowing, sled work and burpees. Most ask for the same thing: medics on standby with an AED for a few hours, an ambulance alongside where the numbers justify it. Give us the hours and the participant count and we scope from there. How standby cover actually works
Three phases, each one as important as the next.
Pre-event
We work with you to scope the right level of cover. Headcount, venue layout, run sheet, risk points, weather considerations, alcohol policy, ages, physical exertion involved. We come back with a plan that places the ambulance, the paramedic and any additional medics where they are most likely to be needed. We confirm the team in writing.
On the day
The crew arrives before doors open. They do a venue walkthrough. They identify primary and backup egress routes. They brief with your event team. The ambulance is positioned. The cover is in place. From the moment the first guest arrives until the last one leaves, the medical team is on standby.
Post-event
Clean handover. If the cover was uneventful, that is the result we wanted. If we treated anyone or transported anyone, you get the report. We close out every loose end.
Why pre-booked standby beats relying on 995
SCDF emergency ambulances are positioned to respond to the next emergency call from anywhere in Singapore. They are not pre-positioned at your venue. SCDF's published median response time to emergency calls is single-digit minutes (around seven minutes in rush-hour conditions), which is fast by any international standard. For an event in a downtown CBD venue this is usually fine. For an event on Sentosa, in a deep basement, on a closed marathon route, or in a venue with limited road access, that response can stretch significantly.
For pre-planned situations, the right answer is to put medical capability on site before the event begins. Trained, briefed, ready. That is what standby is for.
